Itinerary

Upon arrival at Venice Airport, you will be transferred from the airport to Tronchetto in order to take a boat to arrive to the hotel. Accommodation.

After breakfast you will meet the local guide at St. Mark’s Square in order to enjoy of a walking tour through the city of canals. You will discover the most important monuments of the city, such as: Doge’s Palace (outside visit), St. Mark’s Square, Bridge of Sighs, etc. Accommodation in the hotel.

After breakfast you will leave towards Verona. In the morning you will meet the local guide to enjoy a walking tour over the City of Romeo and Juliet. Here you will visit Piazza Bra where you can find the Arena of Verona. You can also see Piazzale delle Erbe, Piazzale dei Signori e Juliet’s house where the most passionate persons swear love to each other. After the city tour you will reach Florence. Accommodation.

After breakfast we will be led in a city tour by our local guide in Florence to admire the beauty of the cradle of Renaissance in Tuscany, homeland of Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Giotto, Dante and Machiavelli. During the city tour you will have the possibility to see the famous Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery with the legendary Gate of the Paradise; the Basilica di Santa Croce; Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. After the city tour you could delight a typical Florentine steak.

The next stop of the journey will be San Gimignano, where you will be guided inside this tiny medieval city with a particularly strategic position. After the city tour, you will return to Florence.

After breakfast, you will be led to Siena. Upon arrival you will meet the local guide to enjoy a city tour through one of the most beautiful cities of Tuscany. Here you will discover the Basilica of San Domenico where the relics of Santa Catarina are still conserved. The visit continues in the beautiful and known Piazza del Campo, where the Palio, an annual horse race, is celebrated. Right in this square, the locals of Siena spend most of their routine life. After the tour, you will continue to Greve in Chianti Tuscan area, famous because of its wine production. Here you will enjoy the scenery and a lunch at Castello di Vicchiomaggio. In the evening you will return to Florence. Accommodation.

After breakfast, the first stop of this journey will be the well-known Pisa. This city is specially famous because of the Leaning Tower, but Pisa has more to offer than just a tower. This city has three thousand years of history, science and art which makes it one of the must-see of the Tuscany. Our local guide will help us know more about Pisa and its more important monuments that are placed at Piazza dei Miracoli: the Leaning tower, the Baptistery and the Cathedral. You will also enjoy a walking tour through the streets of the city to reach Piazza Dante and University of Pisa where Galileo Galilei started his battle to prove his science. The tour continues in Lucca where we will find our local guide who will show us the beauty of this city surrounded by nature and art. This city has preserved most of its medieval style and it’s perfectly iso- lated because of its big walls built to protect its palaces, churches and monuments in the past wars that took place in the Tuscan area. Lucca was the center of the big old trade, especially in silk. After this tour, you will come back to Florence. Accommodation.

After breakfast, the journey will start with a visit of Arezzo with a local guide. Despite of being a medieval city destructed during World War II, Arezzo still preserves most of its churches, palaces and museums. The Basilica of St Francis is one of the most famous of the city, inside of this basilica you can find some frescos of Piero della Francesca. The tour will continue in Cortona, a small city located in Val di Chiana, near Arezzo. The city is encircled by walls and build up over a hill 600 meters high. From this point it is possible to enjoy a beautiful scenery of the valley of Valdichiana and Lago Trasimeno. The Piazza della Repubblica is placed in the center of Cortona where the city hall can be found.

The next stop of the journey will be Montepulciano where a local guide will show you this small and characteristic Tuscan city. It is build up over the “Mons Politianus” and the city was named after it. You will pass through the most beautiful places of Montepulciano such as the Sanctuary of Madonna de San Biagio, Piazza Grande of Duomo, etc. After this walking tour, you will come back to Florence.

After breakfast, you will reach Assisi where your local guide will show you the beauty of this city. Assisi is the prove of its spiritual and religious importance during the Middle Age in Umbria. This city is closely related to Saint Francis of Assisi, and still nowadays. During the tour you can enjoy the places frequented by Saint Francis such as the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angelia built in 1596. Inside the basilica it is possible to admire the called “Porziuncola”, a tiny chapel where Saint Francis died on 3rd October 1226. The basilica of Saint Francis is a must-see. It is divided in 2 different churches: the inferior one and the superior one with a roman-gothic style.

Walking through Via San Francesco that lead to the square of the old center of the city where you can find the temple of Minerva that became the Church of Santa Maria above Minerva. To finish this city tour you will be led to the Church of Santa Chiara to enjoy the scenery of Umbria Valley.

The next stop is Perugia, a local guide will take you inside the city to dis- cover the capital of Umbria. Right in the entrance of the city you will see the first artistic contrast between the Etruscan-roman gates and the newer buildings of the city. Once you reach the central square you will find the city hall, the Maggiore Fontana and the Cathedral of Saint Lawrence built in the XV century.

After this city tour, the journey will finish at Rome. Accommodation.

After breakfast, you will meet the local guide who will make you discover some of the wonders of the eternal city through a panoramic tour: Colosseum, Arch of Constantine; Circus Maximus; Palatine Hill; Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. Free time in the evening. Accommodation in the hotel.

After breakfast you will meet the local guide to begin a tour through the Eternal Rome inside the Vatican Museums where you will be able to admire the famous and incomparable Sistine Chapel where Michelangelo painted on the vault his version of the Creation. The visit will proceed through Saint Peter’s Basilica. Free time in the evening. Accommodation in the hotel.
