SARDINIA: A JOURNEY THROUGH SEA AND HISTORY

Arrival at Olbia airport and meet our driver to transfer to hotel. Free time. Accommodation at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the hotel to Costa Smeralda. The first stop will be the famous town of Porto Cervo with its beautiful Stella Maris church. Possibility of shopping in the famous boutiques of the town. Continue to Porto Rotondo and Capriccioli beach, to reach Baja Sardinia. Free lunch. In the afternoon, guided visit the archaeological area of Arzachena to know the Tomb of the Giants, a splendid archaeological site of very ancient origin, dating from 2500 BC. C. In the late afternoon, return to the hotel for accommodation.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Nuoro and guided tour of the city: visit the Etnographic Museum where it is possible to discover the costumes and objects of the Sardinian tradition; the Church of Solitude in which the writer Grazia Deledda was buried. At the end of the morning continue to Orgosolo and enjoy a typical Sardinian specialties lunch. After lunch, walk to the center of Orgosolo where you can admire the famous “murals”. Continue to Cagliari and arrive at hotel. Accommodation at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia: the historic center, the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Sanctuary of Bonaria, the National Archaeological Museum. Panoramic stop at Monte Urpino. Free lunch. In the afternoon, we head towards Nora to visit the famous archaeological site of Nora, one of the main centers of Sardinia in Phoenician, Punic and Roman times. Return to Cagliari. Accommodation at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Oristano. Stop in Cabras to visit the small church of San Giovanni di Sinis dating from the 5th century, one of the oldest churches in Sardinia that is still in use. Then continue through the Sinis Peninsula to visit the Roman Punic city of Tharros. Departure to Torralba where it will be possible to admire the splendid Nuraghe “Santu Antine”, the largest in the north of Sardinia. Arrival in Alghero at night, hotel accommodation and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. Full day dedicated to visiting the city: the historic center with the Spanish walls and towers, the Church of San Francisco, the Cathedral. Free lunch. In the afternoon, panoramic tour of the promontory of Capo Caccia and the bay of Porto Conte. Return and rest of the afternoon free for shopping. Accommodation at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning dedicated to the excursion to Castelsardo, a pretty town located on the north coast of the island about 70 km from Alghero. The city is perched on a promontory overlooking the sea, famous for manufacturing Sardinian handicrafts, it is one of the most popular tourist areas in northern Sardinia. After the visit to the historic center, return to Alghero. In the afternoon, transfer to Olbia. Accommodation at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to take the flight back.
